FAQ
Do I need a Hyrox-specific gym?
+
No โ the serious training work can all be done in a commercial gym. That said, if you have access to a Hyrox or CrossFit facility, even just occasionally for your simulation sessions, that's a real advantage. Let Wade know what you have access to in the questionnaire and he'll program around it.
I've never done a Hyrox before. Is this suitable?
+
Yes. The program is built for first-timers through to experienced competitors chasing a time improvement. Your questionnaire captures your current fitness level and Wade programs accordingly. Week 1 is challenging but manageable from day one.
How many days per week do I need to train?
+
The standard program is 4 days per week โ one simulation session, one run/station session, one strength session, and one aerobic session. Wade can scale to 3 days if that's what your schedule allows, and up to 5-6 for more advanced athletes.
Open or Pro โ which division should I enter?
+
Open is the standard entry point and where the majority of athletes race. Pro is significantly heavier โ Open Men use 152kg on the sled, Pro Men use 202kg. Wade will advise based on your questionnaire if you're unsure. Most first-timers should race Open.
I already have a race booked. Will 6 weeks be enough?
+
6 weeks is enough to make a meaningful improvement to your race performance โ particularly on the strength stations and your pacing between them. If your race is less than 6 weeks away, note that in the questionnaire and Wade will adjust the program to peak you at the right time.
What happens after I pay?
+
After payment you'll be sent a link to the Hyrox questionnaire โ 6 short steps covering your background, goals, station confidence, equipment access and health. Wade reviews your answers and builds your program within 24 hours. You'll receive a link to your client portal where the full 6-week program lives.
